THE BRAZILIAN SUMMER SESSIONS

TRIO MADEIRA BRASIL

BIMHUIS September 15 21.00 16 Euros Amsterdam

The Brazilian Summer Sessions is a special program created by A Hora do Brasil Foundation in partnership with the Bimhuis to present in Amsterdam the strong tradition and the diversity of several unique styles of the Brazilian music.

The previous concert, featuring the roots samba of Teresa Cristina & Grupo Semente was a fantastic success, marked by an exceptionally hot Summer evening in a full and swinging Bimhuis, last June. Now is time for the chorinhos of Trio Madeira Brasil.

Older than samba or bossa nova, choro (cry) or chorinho is a traditional style that is enjoying a great revival in Brazil and being discovered by the music lovers everywhere. The chorinho’s repertoire is rich in melody, harmony and rhythm, being at the same time delightfully elegant and popular.

After the concert, a Brazilian party with dj Paulão (from Olele Brazilian Bar).

Trio Madeira Brasil is one of the most exciting groups to emerge in the world of instrumental music in the recent years. The performance of the three virtuosos is at the same time energetic and refined, warm and sophisticated. Their repertoire, based on the vibrant Choro, includes the classic as well as the eclectic, representing the best of the Brazilian tradition.
